Types
of Bed and Breakfasts in BC, Canada
(always ask about B&B Accommodations...
as all Bed and Breakfasts are not created equal)
British Columbia
Bed and Breakfasts operate from, either, a private home,
a lodge or as a heritage inn. Some B&Bs are located
in the core of the community, while others are located on
the outskirts of town in remote wilderness areas including
on islands, mountains, lakes and rivers.
Most of the private
home B&Bs include 2 Guest Suites minimum, some are larger.
Suites or rooms may include a private entrance, private
ensuite, daily room cleaning service and/or a self contained
kitchen ensuring privacy. There are smaller, usually less
expensive, Bed and Breakfasts that offer a room with a bed
and the guests shares the common areas of the home with
the Hosts/Owners.
Most B&Bs
serve breakfast, but not all, so ask. Some provide the basics
while others cook up the full meal deal. All in all, B&Bs
vary greatly in room size, privacy, comfort, quality and
price. (always ask price if this is important to you). A
larger B&B offers more amenities and a wider selection
of rooms. Some larger inns and lodges arrange eco activity
packages and operate restaurants onsite.
