British Columbia motels tend to be in low rise buildings offering limited public and recreational facilities onsite. There are always exceptions to the rule. Some high end motels do have pools, hot tubs, gyms and restaurants.

Hotels operating in British Columbia, Canada are usually located within the community. They tend to be in high rise buildings with many floors. Hotels tend to provide a full range of services.

Many of the larger hotels provide services like on-premises food and beverage services, underground parking, cocktail lounges, entertainment venues, conference facilities, business services, gift shops, pools, gyms and can hook you up with recreational tours. Many of the hotels services are catered by uniformed staff on call 24 hours a day.

A British Columbia motor inn, operates on a smaller scale and tends to offer onsite food and beverage services, meeting and banquet facilities and selected recreational activities.

British Columbia hotel and motel accommodations generally have higher rates in the peak seasons from May to September and offer package deals in the off seasons with discounted rates.

The exception to the rule is ski resort motels in the summer where they tend to be busier in the winter seasons.
