 Deluxe high end vacation homes are usually
located on prime pieces of real estate. Many vacation homes are situated in beautiful surroundings fronting lakes, rivers or oceans. Some are hidden in mountains or surrounded by forests. Others provide the comforts of a vacation home close to all city services, conference centres and event centres. It is a mix bag.
Vacation homes and rental suites are self contained units which means
all the amenities for everyday living are included with the home.
The accommodation will usually have many bedrooms, bathrooms,
kitchen stocked with utensils and living area with
TV, DVD Player and stereos. It may have a sauna, hot tub, pool and recreational toys like canoes, kayaks or bikes.
However, renting a vacation home or rental suite comes with some responsibility as travelers are required to provide
their own food and arrange their own recreation.
Vacation home and rental suites tend to be for longer visits. Some owners will not rent to people unless it is for a minimum of 3-7 nights. Be reminded, that if you are set on a vacation home or suite there are some communities in British Columbia which do not permit these types of accommodations to operate within their area.
British Columbia accommodations generally have higher rates
in the peak seasons from May to September and offer package
deals in the off seasons with discounted rates and longer
rental terms.
Depending on the area and the location of
the home, the peak season could be during the winter months
when snowmobiling, snowboarding, cross country and downhill
skiing are very popular and close by.
