Bear Cove Cottages is located 5 minutes south of the community of Port Hardy, B.C. on Vancouver Island. The ocean view cottages are a welcomed treat when visiting the North Vancouver Island region. The small private cottages are perched on a forested hill overlooking the ocean waters of Bear Cove Harbour and the comings and goings of the many boats and ferries that pass on by.

The wood cottages are built with excellent craftsmanship, inside and outside. Each unique unit partially sits on wooden stilts and enjoys views from a semi wrap around deck. Cottages are fully self contained and functional with dining table and chairs, kitchen, comfortable beds, a fireplace, TV and satellite. The beds are, either, queen or king size and are fitted with warm bed linens. The bathrooms are 4 piece and come with a jacuzzi tub.

While visiting the cottage accommodation there is a good chance of viewing wildlife like Bald Eagles and Hawks. Often while relaxing outside on the spanning decks partially surrounding the cottages the predators are seen soaring high above or perched in nearby tree tops stalking prey.

The resort, operated by the owner (a local Port Hardy resident), also offers Salmon and Halibut Fishing Charters with cottage accommodations. Onsite there is cold storage and offsite across the street is the boat marina.

For more wildlife, there is a walkway worth exploring not far from Bear Cove that passes through a bird sanctuary and follows the coastline into town. It is a 30 - 45 minute walk with wildlife viewing breaks.

The accommodation resort is a short 5 minute drive from the bustle and sounds of the Port Hardy Village where shops, pubs, banks, restaurants, eco tours and gas is available.
