The Old Courthouse Inn welcomes
all who visit Powell River from the heart of the
Powell
River Townsite. Once a jailhouse, police station
and courthouse during the pioneer days of the area
- the Courthouse Inn, today, is a fully restored,
beautiful heritage hotel rich in comfort and history
partnered with Footprints Nature Explorations and
Manzanita Restaurant.
Lining the walls of the inn are pictures of the
early settlers of the area, the buildings of that
time, the logging and mining men and women who worked
the land... all with stories to tell. The antique
desks, sofas, writing tables, phones, typewriters,
record players, etc decorate the halls from room
to room ensuring every trip to and from the room
is a trip down memory lane.
There are 8 fully equipped rooms. Each with beds
layered in coverings, TV, private or private bathrooms,
fridges and much more. The inn is within walking
distance to a corner store, movie theatre, pub and
restaurants. A short drive away is Willingdon
Beach and hiking trails like the Sunshine
Coast Trail.
Manzanita Restaurant is located on the oceanside
of the Inn with a large deck, elegant indoor seating
and a seated bar. The menu is predominantly regional
seafood, changes with the season and utilizes local
produce as much as possible.
The Old Courthouse Inn also proudly promotes the
local adventure scene partnering with Footprints
Nature Explorations. A wilderness adventure company
offering tours and customized packages kayaking,
biking and hiking while exploring the islands, coastlines,
mountains, rivers and lakes located on the west
coast of British Columbia, Canada.
