Port Clements, Graham Island, BC, Canada
Haida-Gwaii British Columbia

Port Clements, B.C. is located centrally on Graham Island which is the largest island in the Haida Gwaii archipelago. This small forestry village can be seen just off of Hwy 16 (parts of it anyway), north of Yakoun Bay and Strathdang Point. Venture further into the village for ocean views where the harbour and coastline road look out over Masset Inlet for as far as the eye can see. The small logging and fishing village is a 1/2 hour drive south of Masset Village and about a 15 minute drive north of Tlell.

Waterfront Wharf, Masset Inlet, Port Clements, BCPort Clements has a few varied accommodations and amenities throughout the area. There is a gas station and a restaurant/coffee shop (hours vary) found just off of Hwy 16. A convenience store, a forestry museum and a specialty coffee shop are inland closer to the ocean.

Port Clements, Haida Gwaii, is a popular destination for people seeking wilderness adventures such as bird watching, sports fishing, photography, sight-seeing, hiking, off roading and sea kayaking.

Port Clements has been the centre of operations for the logging industry operating on Haida Gwaii since the early 1940's. Today, forestry is still one of the main employers of the region - accounting for 35% of the islands economy. Juskatla, is forestry central, located just south of Port Clements via an active gravel logging road. The same road to Juskatla on Mamin Bay next to Cowhoe Bay leads to The Golden Spruce Trail.

A popular adventure in Port Clements is discovering the history of the The Golden Spruce. A short hiking trail tells part of the story. It is forest trek that leads to an aged wooden viewing bench peering out across the Yakoun River. At one time a magical Golden Spruce Tree sat across the river. But, in 1997 a ??? individual cut the tree down creating international headlines spanning over three continents. A seedling survived, luckily. A rare baby Golden Spruce, is protected and open for viewing at the Port Clements Millennium Memorial Park.

East of Port Clements is the area of Naikoon Provincial Park. A popular park area of Haida Gwaii, accessed by mostly trails in Masset and Tlell. There are many active gravel roads for exploring in the area leading to hikes and viewpoints. A short drive away is some of the islands largest and most expansive, remote sandy beaches like East Beach and Misty Meadows. And, make time for the hiking trail leading to the Pesuta Shipwreck.
