The world comes to B.C. to golf all year round. In the summer the golf courses are green and wildlife is plenty. The golf courses are busy. In the spring the flowers are blooming and sunshine mixes with clouds. Golfers pack along umbrellas in case of a spring shower. Rain is good, as we rely on Mother Nature to assist us in keeping everything green so to create a "golfing paradise".

In the fall, the trees turn colors and the ground is littered in leaves. But it is in the winter, in some regions, that many do not realize that golf is still going strong in many communities in BC.

At low elevations there are communities who do not get much snow during the winter season or when they do it does not stay around for a very long time. Snow may be falling in the mountains at the higher elevations entertaining skiers and snowboarders while others play a round of golf at the lower elevations. British Columbia is lucky, especially on the westcoast and in the southern portion of the province, where golf courses are open year round. Some places you can ski and golf on the same day!

The selection of golf courses in BC is staggering. In some regions of the province you can tee off at 3-5 golf courses visiting 3-5 different communities, all located within a 2 hour drive of each other. The highway system in the province enables travel to and from communities for golfing enjoyable and very scenic.

In British Columbia there are golfing facilities of all types. There are Par 3s, 9 and 18 hole golf courses. Some of which are very well visited by the professional golfing tours.

Some of the more popular courses for golfing in British Columbia are located on Vancouver Island, Whistler, mainland Vancouver and throughout the Okanagan Valley. Vancouver Island enjoys over 45 different golf courses and the Okanagan Valley operates over 22 quality golf courses.

Golf Courses vary in amenities and services. Most golf courses operate Pro Shops. It is here you can set up tee times, rent golf carts and golf equipment. The larger golfing facilities are equipped with onsite Golf Pros for lessons, have backyard driving ranges and practice putting greens.

For after the game most of the 18 hole golf courses have restaurants and lounges at the 19th Hole where sometimes one can find some more entertainment. If you want to make a weekend of it, there are also golf resorts in the province with accommodations onsite providing self contained suites, chalets and vacation homes with front row seats overlooking the course.

It is wise to book a tee time on the phone or in many cases on the internet prior to your arrival so you are guaranteed a tee off time.
